A roof has one job — keep the weather out — and it has to do it for decades. We build and finish roofs that do exactly that, including traditional cut roofs built on site timber by timber, which give you flexibility on shape and a really solid result.
Whether it's the roof on a new build, an extension, or a replacement, we make it watertight and built to last.
What’s involved
For a cut roof, we set out and build the structure on site — rafters, ridge, purlins and so on — shaped to the design rather than relying on pre-made trusses, which is ideal for extensions and trickier shapes.
We then felt, batten and cover the roof in your chosen tile or slate, and fit the flashing, valleys and trims that stop water finding its way in.
Finally we sort the guttering and rainwater so everything drains away cleanly and the roof is properly finished.
“He went above and beyond to help me sort out what other builders had done, did it for a reasonable price, and even stayed well into the night so me and my children had a secure home. I’ll never use any other builder now.”Vanessa Ruffell
Your most common questions
What's a cut roof, in plain terms?
It's a roof built piece by piece on site from timber, rather than dropped in as ready-made trusses. It gives more flexibility on shape and headroom — handy for extensions and conversions.
Can you match my existing roof tiles?
We'll match the tile or slate as closely as possible so an extension roof blends with the house. On older properties, reclaimed tiles are sometimes the best route, and we'll advise you.
Do you fix leaks on existing roofs?
Yes — we can repair flashing, slipped tiles and problem areas as part of our maintenance work, as well as building new roofs.
