Sometimes you don't need an extension — you just need your existing rooms to work together. Knocking through between a kitchen and dining room, or opening up a hallway, can make a home feel twice the size and far brighter, all without changing its footprint.

We plan open-plan alterations so they feel intentional and seamless, handling any structural support needed along the way.

What’s involved

We look at how you want the space to flow and which walls are in the way, then establish which are structural and need supporting.

Where a wall is load-bearing, we install the right steel support so the opening is safe. Where it isn't, we can simply remove it and make good.

We then finish the whole space as one — matching flooring, levelling ceilings, blending plaster and decoration — so it reads as a single, considered room rather than two knocked together.

“He went above and beyond to help me sort out what other builders had done, did it for a reasonable price, and even stayed well into the night so me and my children had a secure home. I’ll never use any other builder now.”

Your most common questions

Can any two rooms be knocked together?

Most can, but it depends on what the dividing wall is doing and what's around it (services, chimney breasts, supports). We'll assess it and tell you what's realistic.

Will the join look obvious afterwards?

Not when it's done well. We blend floors, ceilings and plaster so the finished space looks like it was always meant to be open, not patched together.

Do open-plan alterations always need a steel beam?

Only where the wall is load-bearing. If it's non-structural, no beam is needed. We confirm which before any work starts.
